We all as teachers of foreign languages can improve our teaching by using teaching aids in this essay; I am going to deal with serious types of aids
A. visual Aids e.g.
The chalk board-pictures-charts-flash cards
B. Aural Aids e.g.
Radio and tapes
C. visual and Aural Aids e.g.
Motion pictures and television
To improve the skills of both listening and speaking , I will talk about (tapes) Tapes may be employed for more than a purpose.
A) Tapes may be used to provide students with recorded samples of native speakers pronunciation and intonation. SS are exposed to these recordings repeatedly soasto catch the different aspects of pronunciation such as (stresses-terminals-phonemes).
B) Tapes may be used in Grammar drills.
C) Tapes may be used in aural comprehension.
When tapes are used, the teacher is reminded to consider the following points:-
A) Tapes are not to be overused
B) Tapes are not the best media of learning for some students
C) The recording on the tape has to be technically clear
D) The speed of recorded speech has to suit the learners' level
